LESSON PLAN

Grade  / Semester        : VII / 1
Competency Standards           :

1.      Reading             :  The ability to read aloud, understanding English writing in the context of class and  find Past Simple negative : regular and irregular verbs.
2.      Listening           : Understanding the meaning in simple conversations for interacting.
3.      Writing             : spelling ability and copy the English word .



Basic Competency:

1.      Reading             :  Finding various information and text Past Simple negative : regular and irregular verbs.
2.     Listening            : Putting events in order.
3.     Writing               :  Copying words in the picture , answer questions and knowing the tools for camping in English.

Time Allocation : 2 x 40minute.
1.      Learning Objectives :

Students can use mastership and writing in the sound structure, gain new vocabulary ,grammar and find out Past simple negative question in regular and irregular verbs, knowing camping tools and able to communicate actively with the surrounding environment.




2.      Learning Materials :

·   Unit 7 ‘’Friends’Club
·   Source on page 20-21
·   The Props : Text ,picture ,cassette and tape player.

3.      Strategy and Learning Methods.
a)Presentation Method : Teacher discuss about camper , Past Simple negative : regular and irregular verbs
b)      Grammar Translation Method : Teacher explained in class about camping and explain Past Simple negative and question in regular and irregular verbs then the students are expected aware of the rules of grammar Past Simple negative.
c)Problem Solving : Past Simple negative and question in regular and irregular.
Example : regular   : I washed up after meals.I didn’t wash up after meals.
                 Irregular :  We ate outside. We didn’t eat outside.
d)     Brainstorming Method : If students find the lesson that are considered difficult, then will be discussed together in the class.
e)Discuss Method : Teachers explain and discuss the subject matter with students through questions and answers.


4.      Steps of learning activities.
Meeting 1

1.       a. Introduction : Greet the students.
-          Says ‘’Good morning’’
-          Pray and call students names.
-          Check their attendance.

b. Warming Up.
- Give stimulus
 Teacher : Hi! Do you like outdoor activities?
Students : (answer question)
Teacher : (asked the students one by one) What you like outdoor activities?
Students : (answer question)
Teacher : did you know camping is a very popular outdoor activity around the world?

2.      Main Activity
-          The teacher reads the short text then students follow.
-          The teacher give instruction to students read the text in groups.
-          The teachers provide instruction read the text to students one by one .

3.      A. Exploration.
-          The teacher asks the students to understand the story in text.
-          The students finding word past simple negative and question.
B. Elaboration.
-     Familiarize students read a variety of specific tasks through fluently and correctly.
-     Provide and opportunity for students to think, and analyze the story in the text and    understand grammar Past Simple negative.
C. Confirmation.
-     Give positive feedback and reinforcement in the form of oral and written
-     Give prizes to the successful students.
-     Provide a reference so that students can check the results of exploration.

4.      Evaluation / Exercise.
-          Students find sentences in the text that has been read by way of checklists..
-          The students mentioned camping tools in the picture.
-          The students correct sentences in Past Simple negative.
-          The teacher asks the students to collect answers on paper,
-          The teacher answering the questions with Students.

Interview Annie from Germany about her camping holiday last year
Fun with the mosquitoes!
Now, you often go camping with your family, Annie. Where did you go last years?
We went camping in Germany.
Did you enjoy it?
Yes, I did. I enjoyed it very much. The weather was wonderful! It didn’t rain once. My dad put up the tent near a river . We swam every morning and we ate outside every day.
Did you cook?
No, I didn’t. My mom and dad made the meals. My dad’s a terrible cook. Only the flies and wasps enjoyed his meals.
What did you do?
My brother and I washed up after meals and made the campfire. Our most valuable equipment was matches.
Did you sleeping bags?
Yes, we did. I used a torch to read in my sleeping bag at night.
And did you sleep well?
No, we didn’t sleep very well. The mosquitoes bit us every night. And my dad snores and he made a terrible noise!



Meeting 2

-          Grammar Translation Method and direct method.

4.      Learning Activity.
a.)    Main Activity .
-          The teacher play tapes once and students listen carefully
-          The teacher played the tape over and over again up to 3 times.
-          The students listened to a story on tape cassettes.
-          Provide feedback to students.
-          Responding to a question by recording.
-          Discussing vocabulary in taped conversations.
